received a $25 tenth payment.
"I want to renovate my house, which nearly collapsed after the recent rains. I had to cover it with canvas material since I could not afford to buy building poles to rebuild the house. My goal currently is to save enough money to buy the required building materials, such as iron sheets. I joined a merry-go-round group where I have been saving Ksh. 1000 every month. I want to save enough money so that by the end of this year, I can use my savings to buy enough building materials to renovate the whole house with my husband. I am also planning to start buying goats by setting aside some cash in order to purchase at least one goat every two months."

"Financial instability! As I speak, life has hit my family so hard to the extent we are unable to live to a desirable standard. My house is grass-thatched and it is just braving the strong wind in our area. Because we do not have money, this has been the case ever since I was married in this home. During this rainy season, shifting our rugged sacks to better positions in the house has disrupted our nights. In the morning hours, I usually feel body pains which I believe to be worse for my young children. What a life! On the other hand, my children's education has been affected the most since the firstborn who was to join grade 7 this year is still at home. This has forced him to engage in odd jobs and I do not have hope of him going back to school. It has given me a headache as a mother and I feel like poverty is part of my life. Failing to send my children to school has ashamed me which has directly affected my self-esteem. Hence, the financial crisis stands out to be the biggest challenge at the moment."

"I am determined to acquire a comfortable and suitable sleeping space to replace my broken bed. This includes obtaining a good bed and mattress that will enhance the quality of my sleep. Additionally, I aspire to venture into goat rearing. By investing in this livestock, I aim to build a sustainable source of income and wealth that can support my family's needs in the long term. Furthermore, I wish to start a sardine-selling business in my locality. The demand for sardines is high in my region, and I believe that establishing a business focused on selling this popular product could be financially rewarding. "

Mohammed
received a $25 fourteenth payment.
"Due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, my previous business ventures, which included a shop and butchery, suffered significant losses and ultimately had to be closed down. The capital I had invested in these businesses was depleted as I redirected the funds towards paying for school fees for my children. I am determined to reestablish both businesses and provide for the educational needs of my seven children, as well as support my brothers in providing for their children’s education. Previously, I had been the main source of financial support for my nieces and nephews, as my brothers faced their challenges with income generation. "

"Ensuring a peaceful environment for my children to learn well is my ultimate goal, not only for this year but also for the future. To achieve this, I prioritize timely payment of school fees and providing the essential stationery items necessary for their proper education. By utilizing the monthly stipends, I can guarantee my children receive the best education possible, enabling them to pursue their desired careers later in life. In addition to supporting my children's education, I am also keen on continuing my investment in livestock, which will serve as a future source of income for me."

received a $25 tenth payment.
"I am planning to build a new house because my current one is in bad shape and not spacious. Its roof looks dilapidated, and I am even worried that it will collapse, thus leaving me homeless. I do not want to start begging for shelter, so my plan is to save some money every month for the building materials. I am targeting to buy 24 pieces of iron sheets and building poles. My goal is to build a decent house, which has not been possible for the past few months since I spent most of the money on food. The rains are currently adequate, and I am doing farming. With this, I am sure that I'll get a good harvest that will ensure food security in my household. This will enable me to use my savings to build the house since I will no longer be spending a lot of money on food."
