"I'm old and don't have a lot of challenges at the moment. However, I'm faced with a dire need for money. Because of old age, I can't work which has led me to depend on my few goats which are not enough to cater to my grandchildren's needs and my own. I have three grandchildren Purity, Vivian, and Kiptoo whom I pay school fees since ai don't have enough money has made my life very difficult since I feel stressed whenever they are sent home to collect school fees."

"Challenges I'm facing at the moment are many such as a lack of food and money. However, the greatest challenge I'm facing is the lack of money which has been caused by insufficient work. Since we depend on farming to get casual labor, it has been a challenge to get work due to the prolonged drought which has led to a lack of farming and therefore, a lack of work. This has affected me greatly since I don't have money to buy food and I'm forced to go far looking for menial work. This has made my life very difficult. Additionally, the prolonged drought has led to a lack of water both for domestic use and also for farming. This has made our lives very difficult."

"We live in a single room house that offers no privacy and cannot accommodate us comfortably. This is because we share it with our children and it also serves as our kitchen and living room. My aim is to build a more decent two room house so that we can use our current house as a kitchen and our children will also sleep in it. Even though I do not have a means of facilitating this, my transfer will come in handy as I am planning to be using part of it to purchase the necessary materials in bits."

"Currently, we have a plan of building a more spacious house for the family while continuing to pay school fees for our children. We have five children and we all sleep in the same room since our financial status has not enabled us to build even a small house for them. At the moment, we're planning to be spending part of the transfer every month in buying building materials in bits. So far, we have managed to buy 150 pieces of timber and I believe that with time, we will have all that we need in order to commence the construction process. Once we complete the construction, I have a plan of buying goats which will be my investment plan."

"Putting food on the table is a difficult task. There has been a persistent drought for the last 2 years. Due to the minimal rains, we lost all our farm produce. This led to a food shortage. To get food, we're forced to depend on casual jobs which are rare. When we acquire temporary jobs, we must always budget well for food. Additionally, food is very expensive now. In a day one is paid $2 for half a day of work. This has made providing for our family very difficult."

"I have relied on farming for a very long time, primarily on a small scale, for survival, but there came a time when drought set in and farming became impossible. I used the transfers to pay for my four children's school expenses and to buy food. Currently, it has been raining, and I am actively engaged in farming, which I think will provide me with enough food once it succeeds. Since I won't be spending as much money on food, I can use the transfer for other needs. To expand my goat shed, which is also an investment, I want to purchase more goats. Having goats allows me to easily rely on them in times of financial need, which allows me to save money for my children's education. The goats will help me raise money when I need it since I don't currently have an income stream on which to rely."

"Looking into the coming years, I wish to have bought more goats for rearing. I hope for the rains to persist, as this will enable me to utilize the cash transfer to acquire additional goats. With the previous transfers, I have already been able to purchase two goats, and I am determined to leverage this opportunity to further grow my wealth through livestock rearing."
