"I used my last transfer to install electricity and paid the electricians to do the wiring, before installing I used paraffin as fuel for lighting which was expensive and sometimes it was not available, the electricity has helped me in lighting and I have saved, I also bought 2 goats I chose goats because they give birth very fast so in days of emergency I will sell them and sort out the situation at hand. During this time my wife was also going to labor so this transfer helped me to help my wife have a safe delivery at that time doctor were on strike so we had to call a doctor from his home, paid him and also paid for his transport for him to be able to help us out. The remaining amount I used to buy seats for the house so that our guest would find somewhere to seat when they visit and also some baby stuff."

Veronica
received a $482 third payment.
"I spent 35,000 KES out of my third transfer on University tuition for my daughter who is undertaking a Teaching Course. Just before receiving GD grant, I was contemplating selling my 1-acre piece of land to pay her fee, but the offer was too little and I became hesitant, tried to shop around for a better bargain but this was not coming forth. I had already sold my cattle earlier on to pay Tuition fee for my daughter as well as Secondary school fee for her siblings. I had sold all my assets except one cattle, that succumbed to drought in the month of April 2017, and consequently I had nothing else but a piece of land as my last resort, which I almost sold at a throw away price, and yet I am raising eleven children in total, including 2 that belonged to my late co-wife. I thank you very much GD for saving my land.
I spent the small balance on dry corn and other food items for my family."

"I had started a project of farming sugarcane in a 2 acre land with the second transfer, so when I received this last transfer it helped me top up and finish up with paying workers and buying fertilizer, I did this as an investment project to help me in the near future. Then I had finished college a while back but I had not finished the fee and the institute was withholding my certificate until I finish paying up the arrears so I paid the amount and was able to collect my certificate."
