"We are always dependent on maize farming as a primary crop in this community. Over the recent years this crop has never been performing well, and my family is no exception. A number of shortcomings including a prolonged drought and diseases have taken a toll on its production. This saw my family go without food for close to five years only until at the beginning of this year that we've had consistent rainfall. Starving for such a long time is the biggest hardship I've faced in my life. "

"When I got married in 1983, I was very exited to start a family of my own. I had anticipated to have children almost immediately. To my utter disappointment, we consecutively lost up to nine of our children soon after birth. We could not understand this mysterious bereavement. Nevertheless, we prayed and surrendered everything to God. Our first born son was born in 1987 the rest of the three children born after him survived. I was traumatized and as a matter of fact, my wife has been disturbed ever since. This ordeal is the biggest hardship I have faced in my life. "
