"As a subsistence farmer, I have always desired to plough a big piece of land to curb food shortage. However, this is not possible due to lack of money to hire oxen. I only plough one acre which only produces food to last us a month. With this transfer, I will purchase oxen that I will use to till four acres of land. This will mean more produce thus reducing food insecurity. Besides using them in my farm, I will also hire them to my neighbours to generate some income. I will also invest more in my poultry business which I have been doing, but it is not so productive due to lack of enough capital. With these two income generating activities, I will be able to educate my children and give them a bright future. I will also replace my grass roof with iron sheets in order to cut down the cost of buying grass every four months."

"For a long time, I have been having health complications which makes me not to do work which needs a lot of energy. Because of this, I usually employ some women to help me in dusting my house as my children are not around most of the time. This is now in the past as I will not have to do so anymore as I have plastered my house and this will help me save some money which I could have used in paying tthose women."

"For so long, I have been buying milk on a daily basis as I did not have a cow. Since I was able to acquire one after receiving my first transfer, I now know that by March next year, I will not be buying milk anymore as my cow will have given birth. This will also make me earn some income through the sell of milk and use the money to buy other things my family will be in need of. The thought of this just makes me happy and have a smile on my face."

"I was very much excited when I received the money because it came at a time when I had a lot of monetary problems. I was worried about how to raise money for my son's initiation ceremony which is quite a big deal in our community and still manage to send him to a good school next year. I am so grateful to GD for coming to my aid."

"The biggest hardship I have faced is when I lost my loved ones whom I really depended on. When I was in class 8, I was optimistic that I would pass and join secondary school. This did not come to pass as I lost my brother due to some illness. When he passed all I was left with was my father who could not do much to help me. It was more hard for me when my father passed on and it suddenly occured to me that I only had myself to shape my life. Life has never been easy for me but I have always kept fighting."

"The biggest difference is that I now have new utensils, mattress, and a coffee table things that I only in other people's houses. I can now serve my visitors on presentable utensils and on a good table. This was not the case, I had old utensils and an old timber table that had one short leg and a stone had to be fixed for a balance to be obtained. My new mattress has enabled to have a peaceful and awesome sleep which was not the same with the old one that felt like I was sleep on the floor."
