"My wish is to get a nice and decent house to live in. Currently, am only occupying a fraction of my house as it is almost falling apart. It has no doors thus very insecure, I cannot even keep important documents in it such as my Identity card. During rainy or cold seasons, I suffer a lot from colds and coughs. Also, I will invest the remaining balance in livestock such as oxen to expand farming and goats for sale to help in meeting other needs such as food and medication for my two sons who are mentally ill. "My life has changed to some extent because IU was able to buy domestic animals which are now under my possession and I expect that they will be of financial benefit in the future because when I sell them out I will be able to make some profit."

"My life has changed a lot because for one I was able to buy two oxen which I will be using in the future to cultivate my farm as opposed to how I have been plowing my farm using the hand-held garden hoe. I also bought a new bed and a brand new mattress which has resulted in a complete turn around of our situations from how we used to sleep on the floor mat during the gone-by days."

"I currently have plans of constructing a new iron-roofed house so that I can move from the thatched one that I am living in at the moment. I have been buying some of the required materials such as roofing sheets with part of the transfers I have been receiving from Give Directly, but it has not been easy because I really need the money for my household needs being that I have no source of income and my husband does not support me financially. I expect to have bought most of the required materials by the time the transfers are over and constructed a better house, however small it may be."

"I can say that my life has changed because for one, I have this big new house which I would not have built to date were it not for the transfers from Give Directly. I also bought two female cows with the main reason being that they would generate some financial benefits for me in the future when they eventually give birth and thereby produce more than enough milk. I would then have an opportunity of selling off the excess milk which will, of course, generate some income for me."

"My life is better because I was able to enrol my two children for certificates both in teaching and electronic. This in turn has made me live a stress free life together with my children. In addition, I was able to boost my business which currently generates profits of about (100,000-500,000) shillings per month. Before these transfers, I could not afford to pay their fees and restock my business ."

"My life has tremendously improved in that, I invested more in Agricultural inputs ( an ox and laborers) to work on my farm than ever before. When I harvest, I hope to sell my rice and build a commercial house which will generate income for family use. Previously, I used to offer casual labor in other peoples' farm land in order to have my own ploughed."

"I had planned to build a house in my rural home since I did not have one. When I received my most recent transfer, I spent KES 20000 to purchase enough building materials such as cement, iron sheets, nails, and other essentials as well as paid labour for construction. Besides, when I started receiving these transfers, I decided to venture into shoe-selling business and so I spent part of my recent transfer to purchase a bale of new shoes at KES 10000 to increase stock and also paid for rent at KES 9000 for the business premise. I spent the remaining amount to cater for my basic needs and other household expenses."

"I spent KES 20000 of the most recent transfer on boosting my business as I had done with my other transfers. I am glad that stocking different kinds of products has attracted a larger number of customers and this has increased my profits. On the remaining amount, I saved a portion of it on my phone which I am hoping to invest soon in other viable projects. I have been using the remaining amount to pay for my daily household basic needs as well as paying for my rent and buying foodstuffs for my family, clothing and other necessities."

"I received this money at around 4:00 am in the morning. I felt so happy to learn that I had received the money that had been promised to me. I went back to sleep and called the father of my children the following day to share the good news with him. We then embarked on implementing the plans that we already had with the money without any misunderstanding."
