"Going forward, I really have a lot of expectation given that my transfers from GiveDirectly are still on. In the next six months, I expect to see much-improved farming compared to the level I am in now and also I would wish to have purchased a heifer. I have confidence that all these are possible since the transfers from GiveDIrectly are coming every month without skipping which will enable me to keep funding the merry-go-round I joined."

"I have a problem with my left leg which has caused me difficulty in walking and working. It began in the year 2000 and I have been through medication since then up to date.I visited several hospitals(and was admitted for 2 months at some point) but there was no improvement and I resorted to herbal medicine. For 8 years I used crutches to walk until 2008 when I started improving. This has hindered my ability to work.I struggle doing physical jobs and this has been a challenge since I am a farmer.I have three children to take care of together with my aging father.I feel much better now but I have to be consistent with my medication."

"Being a housewife and a total dependent on my husband who is a sawyer. The income from this job is at most 3 dollars per day and this is not enough for the family's upkeep. For the $3 he earns, he is still required to use $1.5 to hire the saw machine per day. This leaves him with nothing to save something that worries me about our future. Therefore, I consider the lack of inadequate finance as the biggest hardship that I have ever faced."

"I expect that in the next six months,my poultry business will have fetched me enough money to buy the required materials to construct the house that I had planned to construct but could not due to unfortunate circumstances. I expect to be living in a better iron-roofed house and not in then thatched one I currently have."

"The biggest hardship that I am faced with is lack of money to take care of the education needs of my children.
I have three children in school but providing uniforms, books and all other requirements is not easy on my side. I sell of part of the harvest in order to be able to provide.
It is for this reason that I have sometimes faced food shortage in my home.

"The biggest hardship that I am faced with is lack of land for cultivation. The only piece of land that I have is too small to accommodate all my plans so I am not in position to cultivate as much as I would wish to. "
