Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
The biggest difference is that I have been raised up from poverty. I could hardly afford decent clothes for the family. For instance at onetime, we had no lighting in the house especially at night. Snakes and wild insects could attack us at night and there was nothing we could do due to poor lighting in the house. I am glad that we acquired a solar power system that provides abundant lighting in the house. I also acquired additional pieces of farm land which will improve our food production.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I was asleep when the phone buzzed. I got it and handed to my husband who read the message for me. I felt very happy at that moment because we had lived under abject poverty for long. This was a chance for us to change our life.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent the cash transfer to buy two pieces of farm land worth UGX1200000 and a cow worth UGX300000 and a solar power panel system worth UGX160000. The balance was spent on food and clothes.

What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means I will be able to buy livestock which I can sell off at a later time so as to raise money that can support the family. I am also hopping to buy a piece of land that can support my cultivation activity and increase food priductity in my home.
What is the happiest part of your day?
I am happiest in the evening when my children are healthy and happy. It gives me hope for a better future.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship that I am faced with is lack of money to take care of the education needs of my children. I have three children in school but providing uniforms, books and all other requirements is not easy on my side. I sell of part of the harvest in order to be able to provide. It is for this reason that I have sometimes faced food shortage in my home.
