Kitsao
received a $514 initial payment.
"I spent part of my first transfer on buying a second-hand motorbike at KES 30000. I have been depending on the casual jobs for so many years and I was always paid on commission which was not enough for my family daily needs. I believe owning the motorbike will uplift my living standards. I then bought a piece of land at a total of KES 20000. I previously used to lease from my friends which were very expensive. I also bought some chicken as my living assets that I can depend on my just in case I have financial difficulties. The remaining amount of money, I used to buy some enough foodstuffs for my family."

Sidi
received a $514 initial payment.
"The biggest difference in my daily life is the fact that I now own some goats as my living assets that I did not have before. They have been my well thoughtful assets for years but I could not afford due to the poverty that had stricken my household. I settled in purchasing them because they reproduce twice a year as they mature faster compared to the other domestic animals. I am hopeful that in the next three months, they will help me in meeting my future financial goals without straining like before."

"I spent the money I received on buying a heifer. The heifer is approaching calving stage and this makes me very happy. I had sold all the cattle which I had to raise money for paying school fees for my children. I then bought a water tank to store rain water inside my house. With the remaining amount,I needed to pay school fees for my child in a secondary school. I finally bought some clothes for my children and myself."
