"The biggest difference in my daily life that I now have goats in my compound. This had always been my dream to own them for quite some time but I could not afford them becasue they were a bit expensive. I settled in buying them becaus enough of them I am assured of achieving a lot. Also, goats reproduce twice a year and the offsprings mature very fast as compared to other domestic animals. Also, their food is readily available and there is minimal supervision, therefore, I will no longer strain in taking care of them. My plan is when they mature, I will be selling the matured iffsings and save for my children's school fees. Also, I will exchange some of the goats since they multiply for a pair of oxen which will also be a help to me in my agricultural activities. Therefore I believe the future will be bright through the goats."

"I spent part of my first transfer in buying a dairy cow at KES 15500. For all those years I have been admiring those of my neighbors and hoping someday I will own them. Also, I bought some building poles, iron sheets, nails and timber, and threads. This was for the construction of a new house becasue the previous one that I was sheltering in, was in a bad state. Also, I am using it in buying enough foodstuff fr=or my family and some other household items."

"The biggest difference in my daily life is that I now have two dairy cows in my homestead. Dairy cows normally have numerous benefits and I am optimistic I will achieve most of my goals through them. First, the plenty liters of milk will purely for the business and since there is a high demand for milk in my region, I am certain I will get good returns. Also for the remaining liters, they will be for my family's consumption which will be a surplus to their daily meals making them healthier. In addition to that, I will also be getting manure from the cows which I will apply to my farm and provide essential nutrients to my crops. Therefore I will be saving the money that I have been using to buy fertilizer. It was for my own money, it has taken years for me to accomplish all these."

Kazungu
received a $511 initial payment.
"The biggest difference in my daily life that I will always mention is the fact that I have livestock in my homestead. Livestock keeping is an investment that my community values the most and it was so unfortunate I couldn't afford to own them because they were very expensive. At least I can rely on them in case of any crisis unlike before. In the few months to come, I will be getting milk for my children and me and also sell the remaining few liters. This will now be my main source of income. With the few goats that I bought, I will start a business of selling the offspring at the local markets and this will be an additional income. In regards to that, I will be able to cater to my family basic needs without much struggle like before."

Caren
received a $511 initial payment.
"After receiving the first transfer, the biggest difference in my daily life is the complete construction or storage facility - a granary with a large storage capacity. This is a dream come true after a long time of planning to construct one even when I had nothing. I was lucky enough to get strong construction materials to erect as pillars making the structure stronger and assuring us of its durability. I am still grateful and hopeful that the second transfer will still push us past the next milestone."
