"Receiving this money means better housing for my family of 4. The house we live in now is quite small. This will cost me about Sh 30,000. I would also like to purchase a dairy cow that will give me milk to feed my two young children. Since I had discontinued my studies at a Tertiary institution nearby due to challenges in raising the required fees, it will be a great opportunity to continue my course too. This money will really go a long way in helping me achieve my certificate in masonry and by doing this hopefully I will secure better house construction jobs and hence give me more ability to save for the future."

"Receiving this money means a reduced worry level on where to get school fees for my son, who recently completed his high school studies and is looking forward to joining one of the universities this year. I have been wondering where to get $500 for his first semester. My spouse was planning on scheduling a date for fundraising on the same, but I thank Give Directly for coming in handy. I also intend to build a better kitchen for my family using $300 of my transfer, since the old one we currently operate in is in a deplorable condition; it leaks in water during rainy seasons. I will then use the remaining $200 to clear school fees for my other 3 children in primary school."

"The biggest difference in my daily life is the availability of enough food in my household. I was much dependent on my daughter who had been working so hard to fix everything right from the farm work, livestock, and also household chores as she ensured that we find our daily food. It was not always smooth as we have gone some days without any food. Living with a disability has never allowed me to get off my wheelchair so that I can also try some work. I am now grateful to have received the transfer as a lot has now changed."

"I had been buying milk from my neighbor for a long period of time. Initially, a liter would be enough as my household number was not as big as it is now. With the current number, I had been buying at least two liters but only when I have money. Buying a cow with the first transfer was not an option for me as the cost of buying milk was no longer bearable. I spent 29000KES on securing a good breed currently giving us three liters in the morning and two in the evening. This has saved us the hustle and at least an easy time for my son who had always been walking over the village even during the rainy seasons in search of milk. I also spent the remaining on buying furniture, clothing that includes school uniforms, and also foodstuff after saving some with a plan to invest in poultry farming."
