"Receiving this money mean improved living standard to my household.I plan to spend Kshs.70,000- of the transfers to purchase a plot and establish my own home.I am currently living in a family compound of 3 acres and being a single mother it will be impossible for my child to have a share from it. I will use the remaining amount, to construct a house and pay school fees for my daughter."

"Receiving this money mean better shelter for my household. This is because I have a one bedroom house which is small and not enough when I host visitors.I rely on casual labour which is hard to get and earn me at most 300 per day.I have to share this amount to all my household expenses leaving me with nothing for building a bigger house. This will enable me to have a decent house for my family."

"Receiving this money means food security. I have 2 acres piece of land and I do cultivate only 1 acre using the traditional method of using a hoe. I harvest only one bag of maize worthy 90kg. I use this for only two months. I want to buy two oxen and a yoke for agricultural activities. This will enable me cultivate all the two acres and harvest approximately four bags of maize which will take me around eight months. The oxen and the yoke will cost Ksh 59000. I will use the remaining amount to buy ten goats and one cow as investment."

"My life is different than it would have been if I never received the transfer because if I never received the transfer I would not have been able to solve so many problems in my home because I did not have any money. I have managed to start building a bigger and better house house for me and my family compared to the old small house we are staying in now. I never thought I would ever have a house that has a proper roof in my life."

"The biggest hardship I have faced in life is continued inadequacy of finances. The sowing work that I usually do brings relatively low and irregular income given that this job is seasonal. Besides that my husband is jobless , hence my children go to school every morning without getting a cup of tea. I am worried they might develop malnutrition deficiencies."

"The biggest hardship I have faced is lack of finances to support my family. As a casual worker the work that I do is not predictable I can take up to a week without getting a job and as a breadwinner to the family it becomes difficult to manage giving my family good life as they deserve. I struggle putting food on my table and satisfying other needs."

"I spent my transfer to purchase a dairy cow worth $150, the transfer came as relief on my side because of the financial constraints that we had and we couldn't afford to buy milk daily. Secondly, I was living in a grass thatched house, therefore I used part of the transfer to build a decent house for my family that is $350, It is now presentable, I am very proud of my accomplishment and grateful for the support."
