"2 years ago, my son was diagnosed with stomach cancer which saw me on and off hospital in search of his treatment. This situation forced me to sell 3 hectares of land and all the livestock I had. He later succumbed to the disease and I have been unsteady since then. I had plans of renovating my old house before my son fell ill but I spent all the resources in paying hospital bills. This is the biggest hardship I have faced."

"I had a large business that I used to earn money from to sustained my family but unfortunately for me, my husband got seriously ill. I used all of my earnings from my business to take care of my husband's hospital bills. Of all the money that I spent, my husband died. His death made me to be the only person to cater for the rest of the family members which made my business to collapse. If I receive this money, I will want to continue doing my business and also fix my structure. I believe that when I have my business running, I will be able to take full responsibility of my family again."

"It was exactly 9 o'clock, I was sick and resting in my room after taking some medicine. I was awakened by the continuous loud message notification on my phone. Being illiterate, I could not understood the messages and called my helper who ascertained that it was the transfer I had been eargly waiting. Joy filled my heart after receiving my transfer and I had to inform every member of the household about the good news. We all celebrated for receiving the transfer."

"I spent KES 10000 to purchase a bed and mattress, I was sleeping on a small traditional bed using old rags as beddings. It was not comfortable and always felt pains on my body after waking up which affected the performance of my day-to-day duties.I also used KES 10000 to clear the fees arrears for my child who is about to graduate secondary education. I am also planning to use the remaining amount to improve the condition of my house by putting up new roof, I will purchase 18 iron sheets, timbers, nails and paying labor cost. Currently, I am living in an old, rusty iron roofed house which leaks during the rain season."
