"I got a loan from a neighbor to clear a medical bill four years ago and an agreement was reached then on when I was supposed to clear that particular loan. After the elapse of the agreed date for the repayment of the loan, the lender decided to take an arable piece of my land as a collateral and up-to-date I have been unable to repay the loan. This has reduced the size of my land and as a result I only cultivate the remaining parcel for subsistence use only. This for me is the biggest hardship I have ever experienced. "

"There was heavy infestation of maize stalk disease in my farm for the past seven years and providing the stable food(ugali) for my family became very difficult. I had to buy maize for those years and this really drained my business capital. This is the biggest hardship I have ever experienced. "

"I dropped out of school while I was still in primary school and this will always be the greatest mistake of my life. Since then, finding a job has been very difficult due to my inability to posses necessary education documentation. Now I have to do manual job(rope weaving)so as to sustain my family and for me this is the biggest hardship I have ever experienced. "

"Separating with my wife is the biggest hardship I've faced in my life. It was hard copping up with life situations and bringing up children on my own. Things were tough back then but I'm glad we were able to pull through."

"The biggest hardship that I have faced in life is the inability to put food on the table for my family. There are times when we sleep hungry because we cannot provide food for the family. This is a very low moment for me as a mother since I often feel I have failed as a parent. We do work hard to provide for our children but sometimes it really becomes difficult."
