"The biggest hardship I have faced is raising school fees.My son is in University, two of his siblings are in Secondary school and three are in Primary school. It becomes a great challenge to raise their fees because the only income i depend on is my farm which sometimes may not produce enough to cater for it as well as the other household needs"

"I bought building materials with my first and second transfer and therefore when I received my third transfer I spent it on building semi permanent rental houses .I had a plan of doing so but I did not have capital, because my husband does casual job and sometimes he comes back home empty handed, so I thought of doing so to enable us have a sustainable source of income."

"About two years ago, my son was involved in a fatal accident. Fortunatrly, he survived the tragedy but lost one leg. He was treated at Kenyatta National Hospital ( one of the most expensive hospitals in the country). Consequently, the costs of treatment accumulated to about KSh. 300, 000. As a result, we sold almost everything we had to settle the hospital bill. To date, we still have a pending debt of more than KSh. 30, 000. Hence, that incident acts as the biggest hardship I have faced in life."

"While I was still young, polio paralized my left hand and foot. Accordingly, I have been finding it more challenging to tackle the manual jobs that I do as a casual labor. It is unfortunate that I rely primarily on casual work to earn a living for myself and family - being the houeehols head and bread-winner. Hence, I have not attained enough for myself and family because I rely on one hand alone."
