"Having got married in 2010,it took until 2014 before I could conceive and give birth to our first born child. This is the biggest hardship I have faced in my life because I was subjected to public ridicule and a negative self judgement. I was disheartened by societal expectations. I am now a happy mother of twin boys! "

"My mother was diagnosed with diabetes in the early 90s and was admitted to Litein Mission hospital and later transferred to Tenwek Mission Hospital for further treatment. The condition led to her right leg being amputated. Our entire family was affected. All the cows we owned were sold to cater for her medication. I was about to get married and I had to work extra hard to buy other livestock for my dowry payment. This is the biggest hardship I have faced in my life. "
