"The biggest hardship I have faced in life is when my maize plantation was infested by armyworms for about 5 years which greatly reduced my production. I have been relying entirely on maize to educate my children and other household needs and since i had low production, i opted for casual work in order to cater for my needs."

"I am the second born in a family of 11 siblings. There was a time in our life when we had one of our siblings feeling unwell. It was later discovered that he was suffering from Cancer. It was a hard time for the entire family considering that he needed so much attention and money for his medication. It reached a point that I had to drop out of school just to take care of my ailing brother. It is unfortunate that we lost him and that was the biggesrt hardship in my life."

"For a long time, I had a difficult time providing for my family. It reached a point in my life that I felt I needed to do something for my family to have a sense of responsibility. We hardly had anything to help us within the household to meet the daily needs. In 1989, I went to Chemamul Tea Estates to be employed as a casual labourer. It is at this place that my life took a new twist. I managed to save up the little amount of money that I used to get and within one year, I was able to buy livestock for my family. Since then, my family has never gone hungry and I consider this an achievement that I will never forget."

"The biggest hardship i have faced in my life is being unable to get any source of income. I have always wanted to buy a dairy cow which would provide milk for selling and in turn get money to buy basic needs for my children, but i have not been able to get money to buy one."

"In the 2016 i had planted two acres of cabbages, luckily I was the only one who had cabbages in the whole location and due to the high demand in the market I was selling it at a double price. The money I got was enough to pay school fees for my children"
