"In the next six months to come, I expect to be living a happier life. I expect to be owning a cow. This will be my happiness since it is an added asset to my family, I expect to be producing my own farm milk hence will not spend more like now on milk, we will have more for my family consumption. I expect it to multiply in future and this will always be my hope that I will always be able to provide for my family."

Martlida
received a $523 second payment.
"My life has been good since I received the transfers from Give Directly. I am happy because I have been able to buy two bulls for ploughing. This will help me to save time as well as reduce farming expenses and increase my farm yield. I used to hire cows for ploughing my farm, which was expensive. I prepared my farm late because I had to wait for others to till their land. I also build a pit latrine in my homestead and I therefore, no longer releave my self in the bush while responding to the call of nature."

Sidi
enrolled.
"My greatest ambition is to educate my six children up to tertiary level. This is because education is the key to success and I want them to have a bright future, unlike myself who never went to school. Quality education will enable them to acquire good jobs thus lifting the family out of poverty. Therefore, I will use my first transfer to purchase goats which I will rear and sell them in future to finance their education. This is because, goats are drought resistant and they multiply within a short period. I will use the second transfer to purchase two dairy cows. This will mean a constant milk supply in my village and the nearest trading centres such as Bamba and Guruguru. Selling milk will enable me to have a stable source of income and I will be able to feed and cloth my children. I will also save extra money to build a permanent house in future."

Erick
received a $541 second payment.
"Before GiveDirectly gave me money, I did not have even a single cow and I was also very poor to hire anyone to help me work in my farms. However, since I received the transfers from GiveDirectly, I have bought three cows. In addition, I can afford to hire some laborers to work for me in the farm and I pay them comfortably. I thank God for GiveDirectly's financial support."
