Asha
received a $22 twelfth payment.
"I expect my life to change in the next six months in that, I will have invested in farming with the main goal of having enough food for my family. I will also venture into poultry farming simply because
it has a ready market in our village and from this, I am sure of getting extra income that I will channel towards taking care of the basic needs which have been a burden on my side."

Furaha
received a $543 initial payment.
"The biggest daily difference in my life is the peace of mind I now have, knowing that my son is in college. He had completed high school 2 years back but because I was just a peasant farmer, I could not raise his college fees. His self-esteem has also improved given that he is now at per with his agemates who had joined earlier. Soon he will be a diploma graduate in Information technology."

Kadzo
received a $543 initial payment.
"The biggest difference I have seen so far in my life is that my children now have plenty of food which has resulted from the improved farming methods funded by GiveDirectly's transfer. The additional cow has made land tilling very easy and timely which has seen my farm produce rise much higher. I am happy that my children have had enough and always available food for their consumption."

Kanindi
received a $543 initial payment.
"The biggest difference that the transfer has brought into my daily life is that I now own some goats to boast of as my own assets, which previously I had none. It was only through GiveDirectly funds that I was able to acquire them, and I am sure of getting good returns from them and even enable me to buy cows through them."

John
received a $22 twelfth payment.
"In the next six months, I would like to build a new kitchen. In as much as I have a spacious house, I have always wanted to have a separate kitchen where the cooking is done. The same kitchen will also act as a sleeping place for my children when they come of age. I would not want to share the same house with them always and that is why I planning to build a kitchen where they can also have a private place as they do their own things."

Alexander
received a $542 second payment.
"My life is different in that when GiveDirectly came, we hardly had anything as a family to be proud of. I felt so much happy and proud as a father when I was finally able to settle my last born son in school with much ease. This is something that had been eating up my mind for a long time considering that I had no personal assets to sell at the event that I did not have any cash to help him complete his secondary education. For the three years that he had been in school, we sold almost everything to help him realize his dream of a better future. It would have been so devastating to keep him for the three years only for him to drop out at his fourth year in secondary school. My son felt so happy and am optimistic that he will pass his form four exams at the end of the year. It is something I will live to remember for the rest of my life."
