"My life is different in that I no longer have to deal with high school fees stress because I used the transfer to settle all the fees balance that I owed the school. My children will no longer miss classes and I believe this is going to improve their academic performance. I have also invested the money in cane farming and in the next one year when my cane matures, I shall be able to reap more benefits because cane farming is such a big cash crop in our area. Initially, I could not think of owning any sugarcane farm because all my earnings would always get depleted on either food or school fees. It is my great hope that the sugarcane proceeds shall be sufficient enough to pay college costs to my children and once they complete their studies they will be guaranteed of well paying jobs that shall change our fortune."

"The biggest difference I have seen in my life is that I am now able to have a business of my own. I have been trying to get some capital to start one but it was impossible since the kind of jobs I was doing were not very rewarding. I used to cut stones and charcoal and most times my body had difficulties adjusting to this harsh condition. Today, I am so happy that I now have a business to run. I might not have all the money I need to keep it going but the fact that I do not have to go back to the job I used to have is so relieving. Thank you GiveDirectly for the money you sent, I pray you to continue giving us more money."

"I would have not been able to do most of the things I did. As at now, my family lives in a comfortable house and they have enough food to take during meal times which was not the case in the past. Personally I am psychologically stable because most of the monetary issues that were clogging my mind have been solved."

"Following the significant investment that I have done in my farm, I expect my life to change a lot in the next six. By that time (six months), I will have harvested the maize crops that I planted some months ago. Moreover, I anticipate more income from the sale of my tea since the new plants will have fully matured. Hence, I expect to enjoy a higher living standard because we shall have relatively enough money to meet most of our daily needs and demands. Indeed GD is a blessing to my family because we have accomplished things that initially looked impossible."
