"This year in February, I bought three cows worth kshs 38,000 for my livestock vending business.Unfortunately, two died and one got lost leaving me with no any other source of income hence financial instability. I had to wait for three months to take a loan from Imarika Sacco in May but the financial constraints I had took toll hindering me from providing food to the family. Therefore financial instability remains my biggest worry to date."

"Having lost my eight oxen and five goats to drought two years,I have been reduced to a subsistence farmer yet I used to produce more and sell to other community members.Receiving this money means I will be able to buy two more oxen,ox plough, knapsack sprayer that will help me upscale farming to commercial levels. I will also build a new house because the current one which was built in 1979 is almost falling on us."

"The biggest hardship I am faced with is that I do not have enough food for my family. We had poor harvest and right now I have to work hard and feed both my children and grandchildren. Sometimes I get very little food that I go without food and let them share the little I got for the day. "

"Receiving this money means that I will be able to improve my house, buy bedding and use the remaining transfer in farming. For a very longtime I worked hard to build my house but the kind of soil we used for the walls is very lose and may fall easily that is why I will buy sand and cement with the transfer to improve the house. We have been sleeping on old rags spread on the bed, I will now be able to buy a mattress and blankets for our use. The remaining balance from the transfer I will use in farming because we have a piece of land where I shall plant maize that upon harvest we shall use for food and sell the surplus for other family needs like buying clothes and medical needs of the family. "Financial instability is my biggest hardship. This greatly affects my family status and it is quite difficult to live a decent life. This is because I am unable to meet basic needs for the family. My family goes without food almost 3 days a week. Besides this, I am also unable to respond to medical needs a situation that made me suffer from severe stomach ache for 2 months. It was also impossible to provide housing for the family, and in this regard we have been homeless for the past 3 years. I only constructed this small house in August this year but it is not yet incomplete due to lack of money."

"In the next six months, I would just want to ensure my children are not sent home again for school fees. I will do my best to pay school fees in time so that my children can study in peace. I will take part of my monthly income from GD to pay for their school fees bit by bit until I clear al, their balance. I pray when they are done with studies, they will be able to get well paying jobs to suppoirt me."
