John
received a $23 twelfth payment.
"My priority is to have my good health back so that I can have the energy to work on my farm. Once I am well, I want to improve my livestock farming by buying an additional sheep. This will ensure that I have enough assets that I can always sell whenever I have an emergency or a need to take care of."

Jane
received a $23 twelfth payment.
"As I have quoted earlier, there is a plan in place to start poultry keeping project and purely local breed, this is easy to manage because they are resistant to diseases. I have realized the demand for chickens in local hotels in the region and this will help me fetch more money to sustain the family even after the end of the program. Now I eat the meals which are necessary for my body and payment of fees is easy unlike before when I could walk to relatives to look for financial support."

Gordon
received a $552 second payment.
"My life is currently different from how it was in that, I have paid dowry. My wife is legally mine. My parents in law had been pressurizing me to the extent of sending me messages and endless phone calls to pay dowry being that I had stayed with their daughter for six and a half years without actualizing this process. I had promised them twice but failed due to lack of money. I am glad that I am free and at peace after paying dowry using part of my first and second transfer. Nowadays I don't dread receiving their calls. When they call we hold normal conversations without issues of dowry coming up. Thanks to Give directly for saving my Image. I don't know where I could have gotten the money to settle the debt."

Christopher
received a $533 second payment.
"My life is currently different than how it would have been if I never received the transfer because I managed to buy seats and other household's items such as utensils and a mattress. I was rendered a very poor man in my community who owned nothing meaningful.I am now quite respectable because I also have a sugarcane farm like my neighbours. I also bought a sheep which I would keep as an investment that I can sell to make money in case of a financial emergency."

Pamela
received a $533 second payment.
"My life is different from how it would have been if I never received a transfer because I managed to take my daughter to high school. I never thought of taking my daughter to school because I earned very little from the farm labour jobs that I do that I could not manage to save enough for her school fees. I also managed to buy new chairs in my house because the ones I formerly had were old and had broken arms and legs. My living standard has greatly changed because I can manage to get meals and also bought new clothes for my household members unlike the past when having all meals in a day was unheard of."

Mark
received a $533 second payment.
"My life is currently different from how it would have been if I never received the transfers because I managed to revive my sugarcane farming. Most people in my area are sugarcane farmers and this is the main activity practised which is also a symbol of wealth. My farm had been fallow for many years because I could not raise enough money from my casual labour jobs to spend on buying the required farm inputs and labour for my sugarcane farm. I am glad that through GiveDirectly transfers I am able to work on my farm again and I will be earning more income from it."
