"Poor state of health is the biggest hardship that I face in life. For the past eight years,I have been forced to live in pain after an unsuccessful kidney operation. As a consequence, I have been rendered helpless and incapable of performing heavy duty jobs. Due to deficiency of jobs to engage in, my source of income greatly dwindled and my wife not being able to cope with the situation any longer, ended up abandoning me and taking with her two of my daughters. As if that was not enough, eight months ago, while working as a cook in a school, hot water for cooking "ugali" accidentally poured on me severely burning my stomach region. The wounds have refused to heal and as a result,I am once again in a position whereby I cannot go to work to take care of my son who my wife left behind. I feel so frustrated because even my relatives seem to be getting tired of supporting me. I am hardly capable of renovating my house whose rooftop was blown away by heavy winds let alone feed my son and pay for his schooling."

"I expect my life to change in the next six months in that I will be a proud grandmother who will have finished paying school fees for her grandchildren. I want good education for them since when I do this, they will have better chances of being employed. I do not what them to end up doing odd jobs like the parents."

"I used my most recent transfer to pay my school fees. I stayed at home for two years since my uncle who was paying my fees stopped to pay as he had to pay school fees for his children. I have been struggling to save the the money I get from casual jobs but was not enough to pay all my school fees. I was so happy when I received my transfer because I knew that I will go back to school. I also used part of my transfers to repair my house. I was living in an old house and during the rainy season the roof was leaking and it was very cold at night. I am now happy since I am living in a decent house and it is very warm."

"I expect my life to change drastically in the next six months since I will be having relatively sufficient milk for consumption and sale. Moreover, I will be enjoying more prestige from the cow itself since owning a cow is a great achievement in my community. Eventually, I will acquire substantial funds to finance my college studies because I am intending to further my studies. Thus, I look forward to a brighter future."

"I expect my life to change in the next six months in that I shall have saved money and invest in buying a goat and after its reproduction in future I will sell some and use the profits to buy a dairy cow since, with the dairy cow, I believe I will earn an extra income through the sales of milk to cater to my family's needs."

"In the next six months, I expect to have built and moved into my new house. I currently have an old house that I fear might one day crumble down on us. It has cracked walls and a very old roof which leaks during rainy days. I have started saving towards the plan of building a new house. This will boost my self-esteem and would be able to welcome my visitors without any worries."
