"Receiving this money means alot to me in that I will construct a permanent house which is iron roofed. The house I am living in is small and cannot accomodate all my family members. My in-laws also like visiting me and I have found it difficult to provide accomodation for them."

received a $22 fifteenth payment.
"In the next six months, I expect my life to change in that I will have bought a goat. This will increase the number of assets that I own. It will be an investment for me because goats usually have a short reproduction period. They normally reproduce twice a year. This means that they will increase in number very fast. I will be able to sell the young ones and use the money to settle my bills."

Caren
received a $542 initial payment.
"The biggest difference in my daily life is happiness and comfort that I currently enjoy in my new kitchen. I had an old grass thatched hut that I had started cracking along the walls and also grass started peeling off allowing us to be rained. I had been forced to cope with all this condition since the little I could raise from casual jobs I do could be enough for me to build another one. I am so happy currently I have a good looking iron-roofed house that I can comfortably ask my children to spend their night in and be assured of their comfort and safety."

"In the next six months, I am hopeful that anything else might lack in my household but not food. I will work to ensure east or west adequate food is there in my household. This will give me peace having been in a place where my hands were tied I would want to face that ever again."

Kipsang
received a $22 fifteenth payment.
"Since droughts are still on all over the county at the moment, our goal to buy a large water thank is still our priority. It is our prayer that in the next six months, that goal would have been accomplished. We have witnessed for a long time that during rainy seasons, a lot of water from our roof go to waste, we have a plan to install gutters all around the house so that whenever it rains all water from the roof is directed into the water tank which will indeed save us a great deal when there are no rains. We also have an additional goal to purchase a cow though it will take more time to be realized since we have just started the saving scheme which will help us in raising the money to buy. Thanks to GiveDIrectly for deciding to give us this money bit by bit since we get enough time to plan for every month."

"Lack of reliable sources of income has been the biggest hardship I've ever faced in life. At the moment I don't engage in any strenuous activity because I recently gave birth to twins thus all my attention is geared toward them and given that I have other eight children to take care of, the situation is overwhelming. Again, I get dismal support from my husband in terms of financial and social support. The house we are currently living in was built by Korean well wishers, who sympathized with the dire situation we had. Am so relieved Give Directly has come through, at least my children will not lack basic necessities again."
