Dauda
received a $467 initial payment.
"My life has improved because this term I have managed to pay schools for my 2 children at once compared to when I paid in instalments. In addition, soon I will own a plot of land after getting my second transfer. In the past, I never owned a plot of land that is why I ended up staying with father even when I had started a family and I'm still with him until I pay off all the amount needed."

Kache
received a $535 initial payment.
"Owning a spacious permanent house is the biggest difference in my daily life. I have been longing to build a better and more spacious house but due to my financial status, I could not afford it. My previous house was a small, old grass-thatched hut that was already in a wanting condition that it even collapsed a few weeks before I was enrolled. My properties had to stay in the open which was very insecure and we were forced to seek a place to sleep at my neighbors' and relatives' houses. This meant that my children couldn't even study. After the completion of our house, this problem was solved. I am glad that we now stay comfortable and my children have ample space and time to study. I hope they will do well in their studies."

Grace
received a $39 twelfth payment.
"The biggest difference in my life is that I was able to start a fruit business with part of my monthly transfers. Before the transfers, I did not have any source of income and I used to struggle to make ends meet. My family was struggling and being that we live in an urban setup, life was never smooth on me. I struggle a lot and I am glad I don't struggle anymore as I used to before the transfers. The little income I get from my fruit business has helped me pay all my debts, pay school fees for my children and even buy for the new clothes. It has made a lot of difference in my life because we have never lacked what to eat. We are independent."

Winfred
received a $361 second payment.
"Before the transfers, I did not have any source of income which I could rely on. I used to struggle through casual work to ensure I meet my family needs. In most cases, I would be overwhelmed by needs because I did not have the money to meet all on time. I felt I was struggling a lot and I really needed help. When I received my transfer, I first thought of a better way to invest so that we could have sustainable income long after GD transfers have stopped. That's why I decided to start the business. I am glad the struggles have reduced greatly since I started the business I started with GD transfers."

Francis
received a $49 eighth payment.
"Before I started receiving these transfers, I did not have any stable source of income and only depended on irregular casual jobs that were mostly unavailable. Living by the little income I had was very tough since I have a family that depends on me. When I started receiving the transfers, I started a second-hand shoe business to supplement my daily income which has so far proven to be the best investment I have ever made because I make good profits that can support my daily budget even when I am not lucky enough to come by any casual jobs. This has also allowed me to make savings for any future plans or emergencies which could never happen before."

Wiliter
received a $22 twentieth payment.
"In the next six months, I believe that I would have harvested cabbages which I now have on a seedbed. The seeds which I manage to plant with the money which I received from Give Directly. The money which I would earn from it would enable me to cater to my household expenses and pay school fees for my children."

Julius
received a $22 twentieth payment.
"In the next six months, I would have constructed a house and my children will have a secure and a good place to live. This would be the biggest change in my life as I have been yearning to build a house without success due to lack of finances."
