Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
I have a plan of rearing chicks and the project is expected to take off within the next few months. I need to make sure that I have the right resources in place in order to make this project a success.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
I used the transfers to buy a new solar-powered system. The kids use the solar system to carry out their studies at night which makes it much easier for them to carry out their studies at night without failure. Previously we used to have the paraffin lamps which were very harmful to our health due to the soot emitted by the lamps.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
Once the chicken rearing project has started off then we will have a source of income that we can rely ongoing into the future. I will be sure of getting a steady flow of income going into the future which for me I think will make life much easier for us.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
Currently, I can attest that my life is so different from four months ago because my child has been able to stay in school the entire term without being sent home to clear any outstanding fee balance which I made sure was paid in time. I have also been able to put food on the table daily for my family which was always a problem as we could only eat a meal a day due to the meagre income I earned from casual work. This would cover just a meal a day as we would subdivide it among other needs. I also started a tree plantation business to help in the generation of income for the family.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
I would love to venture into livestock rearing to help in generation of milk for sale and consumption to nourish us.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
The biggest difference in my daily life is that I have been able to pay school fees for my child for the ended term. The child stayed in school and concentrated on the studies without being sent home to clear any arrears. Since the child joined secondary school, I have been using the transfers to pay the school fees. In fact, the child joined the secondary level of education because of the transfers. I am grateful to GiveDirectly for making sure my child's dream has come true.

How is your life currently different from how it was four months ago?
I was struggling a lot to provide for my family as I mostly depended on casual jobs for money. In the last four months, I have managed to use GD transfers to put up a chicken project that has proven to be a very lucrative business. However small it is, I have made much more money from it than I ever had in a month in the last month. This has made it easier for my family, especially my daughter who has been the biggest beneficiary having her school fees paid in time to avoid her staying out of school. In the last four months, I was also able to buy a solar lighting system to replace the dim kerosene lamp that we used before. This has improved the security within my compound as it is now well lit.
Do you have any new or additional goals for your life for the next four months?
I recently started a chicken project which is still not as I had pictured it to be. I would like to use my next transfers to expand it by enlarging the chicken pen then bringing in more chicken.
Describe the biggest difference in your daily life in the last four months preceding the current transfer.
I am a low-income earner who mostly depends on casual jobs that don't usually earn me much. This has always made me struggle to provide for my family and provide other basic needs such as proper education. Paying fees for my daughter in high school has always been a challenge due to my low income which mostly leads to her being sent away from school. I was able to start a chicken business with the help of these transfers in the last few months which has boosted me financially and made it possible to provide for my family and even pay for my daughter's school fees in time. This business has been a lifesaver to me and my family and I thank GD for the funds that made it possible.
How do you expect your life to change in the next six months?
Combining the monthly transfers from GD to the profits that I will be making from the chicken project, I am sure that in the next six months, I will be able to achieve my life long dream of owning a dairy cow. I expect to be living a better life and even quitting the casual jobs completely to become a well-known farmer in my village who will be supplying the nearby markets with milk, eggs and chickens. This, of course, means more money and a generally improved lifestyle for my family.
