Charles
received a $253 second payment.
"I expect to have improved my life by adding an income activity to support my farming. I will be running a spare parts shop for motorcycle. I am skilled in repairing the motorcycles and this means I can easily run it. I hope to grow it and make it bigger to the extent that I get to start selling petroleum products."

Jenipher
received a $528 second payment.
"My life is currently different because the transfer has enabled me to buy a motorcycle which has now become a source of income to us. My husband had been employed to provide the taxi services and the income was little since he was to give a portion to the owner. It couldn't even cover for our household needs. I am happy that this motorcycle is giving us enough money to fulfil our family's needs effectively. Besides, I also managed to buy some building materials such as iron sheets, building poles and nails to build an extension of a single room to accommodate my children. They no longer have to seek shelter from neighbours at night."

"My new goal is to continue saving part of my transfers. I plan to use my savings on starting poultry project. I have witnessed how it has changed lives and I know with my commitment and dedication, I know I will make it. I want to have a stable income which will change my life for the future."

Alex
received a $40 fourteenth payment.
"I spent my transfer on buying school requirements such as uniform and books. These are requirements which I had received a letter from school and she was needed with. It was only a matter of time before she was sent home for them. I am happy I was able to buy them before she was sent home. The remaining part of the transfer, I used on paying my house rent. I had promised to clear the balance I had before end month and I did not want to carry forward debts to a new month."

Eucabeth
received a $528 second payment.
"I would not have made it to owning a dairy cow. I would still be suffering having to buy milk at a very high cost. I am happier and my resources that would have gone to buying milk are now going to savings. I have joined a merry go round where I saved Ksh 3000 per month. This is the biggest difference in my life. If I never received these transfers, I would not have been able to save in a merry go round group because the little I would get would all go into providing foodstuffs including milk for the family."

Regina
received a $40 fifteenth payment.
"Ever since I started receiving the transfers, I have always committed them to pay my rent so that I can focus on other household requirements through my jobs. This is because I moved into a better house of my own where I am now the only one responsible for paying rent unlike before when we shared a house and contributed to raise the required amount."

Zosi
received a $528 second payment.
"The transfer has enabled me to achieve many things that I would not have managed to buy at my own cost. Firstly, I now have livestock in my homestead, a pair of oxen which will help me to plough my farm on time and three goats. I am expecting my farming to change and have a good harvest unlike the other seasons when I was using hoes. I was also able to take my son to college which I would have been challenging considering my low financial status. Lastly, I was able to change my beddings by purchasing new beddings which include a new mattress and a new bed and replaced the old traditional bed and worn out mats that I have been using for years."

"It has always been my desire to have a stable source of income. At the moment, my husband is just staying at home after losing his job due to health-related issues and raising our children has not been easy. I, therefore, intend to venture into goat rearing. This is something that does very well in our region and I believe this will elevate our living conditions from the current deplorable state. Currently, we are struggling to provide basic necessities like food, clothing, and education for our children and as a parent, it is shameful to fail to sustain the needs of the family. Additionally, I intend to use part of the transfers to seek treatment for my husband and I believe restoring his health will be a great boost to the family in terms of support."

"Not having adequate resources has been the biggest hardship in my life. As a result, I haven't been able to get appropriate medical attention and consequently, I have not had a child for all those years in marriage. This even led my husband into marrying another woman who later left him, 5 children, thus transferring all the burden of caring to me. These children are in school, and with limited resources, it has been extremely difficult to sustain their needs."

"My desire is to sleep in a warmer house. My current grass roofed house is leaking and is getting colder especially during rainy seasons like now. My new corrugated iron roofed house will cost $220 of my first transfer. I also want to purchase a barbed wire for $55 so as to paddock my livestock farm."
