"At the moment, my life is different than how it would have been had I not received the transfer because I was able to pay the circumcision fee for my son. Even though my husband sent me out of our matrimonial home after we received second transfers, I was able to achieve this on my own. I was able to achieve this using the KES 15000 that he gave me to use as transport and to start my life all over again."

"We mainly depend on small scale subsistence farming to meet most of our needs such as school fees payment and food for my family. For quite a while now, the farms haven't been producing well and hence little income from the sale of the farm produce. My children were at the brink of being sent home for school fees because I had some arrears pending for my two children. I am glad that the transfers came at the nick of time and I was able to clear the arrears. I am happy now that I do not need to worry that they would be sent home. Had I not received these transfers, I would have also invested in the livestock. I am now a proud owner of a cow, two sheep and a chicken, which already has started laying eggs. In the near future, I am sure they would have reproduced."

Due this, I now have enough time to look for next years school fees. I am also glad since they will not miss their classes this year as a result of being sent back home to collect school fees. Also, I have been able to start building a decent house for my family. Currently, we are living in a house that is almost collapsing and leaks during rainy seasons."

"The biggest difference in my life is that I have been able to pay school fees for my children. One of them had been forced to discontinue his studies for one year due to a lack of school fees. He had always lived a stressful life and always reminding me that I had failed them in life. Due to this, I always felt that I was a terrible mother who could not afford to give her children the education they require. Seeing my children continue with their studies and being happy all the time has given me peace. I believe that I would not have been able to pay their school fees at my own cost and I thank GiveDirectly for enabling me to achieve this."

These assets which I know own will help me in meeting my future financial goals with ease without much straining. Had it not been GiveDirectly, then I would not be owning them for now."
