"I plan to increase my little business with the cash transfer. Since the death of my husband my only source of income is the little business I'm doing, and it has been my dream to increase this business but due to financial constrain I have not been able to do so."

"I spent my second transfers on furniture's worth 10000 Ksh because the ones I had were worn out and not comfortable anymore, and paid school fees worth 20000 Ksh for my two secondary children whereby one was in form 4 and the other one joining form one. This will give them ample time to study rather than being sent home almost every month like before. I also had to buy food stuffs worth 10000 Ksh since my last harvest was not successful. Since all the needy issues had been taken care of I saved the rest of the transfers for the rainy days."

Chepkirui received a $499 initial payment.
"With my family of four, we were so grateful for receiving the first transfer as we had a lot to try accomplishing with the amount. Since I graduated from college back in 2018, I had not been able to obtain the certificate that would have enabled me to apply and seek job opportunities. I had a huge dept of KES60000, and receiving this amount was quite a relief to me. I spent KES30000 on settling it halfway with the hope of completing it after receiving the second transfer. With the remaining amount, I ensured a wardrobe upgrade as everyone needed at least a new outfit in my household that I managed to obtain at KES10000. I also add two sacks of maize each at KES3400 and I obtained new utensils, appliances, dishes, and cookware used in food preparation that we had been lacking for a long time."

"It was early in the morning as I was doing the morning cleaning up before moving out to my usual chores. I was really thankful after confirming the receipt of the first transfer as all my hopes had been on the transfer to accomplish a lot in our household. My husband was still taking his breakfast, and on showing him, he was so excited too. We thanked God for the great provision together as this was a confirmation that the plans we had will be kicking off before long."

"My biggest hardship has been providing food and clothes for my family because my sources of money are not stable. I deliver fish for people who have ordered from the lake to their houses. It's seasonal and that makes my finances unstable"
