"I spent most of the money that I got from GiveDirectly on building another house for my family. We have been living in a small house for quite some time and the space was no longer enough for us all. Guests visiting the household lacked enough space to sleep in. I have always wanted to build another house for them but I was not in a position to due to lack of money. I am a small-scale farmer where I grow beans and vegetables. There are a lot of challenges in farming and sometimes the crops do not do well. When they don't, I sell little and the money that I get is only enough to cater for food. When they do well, I am able to get a better amount from the sales and I use it in paying school fees for my 6 children. There has thus not been money for saving to build another house."
