"At the time when I received the transfer, we were at a water crisis season. Our area was so dry and we used to travel longer distances to access water points at a cost of KES 50.00 per 20 liter bucket. Having that challenge, I decided buy a motorbike to aid me in fetching water as well as doing some business fetching some water to willing people at a price. Apart from fetching water, the motorbike is also used in ferrying people and small luggage from one place to another at a fee too thus becoming a source of income."

"School fees for my children is the hardest challenge I have currently. I have four children and all of them are in school. My job in a query has never been reliable because sales are few. The little I get goes to food only. This situation has caused some of my children to remain at home for even one month sometimes. Their performance has deteriorated and yet I know they are very bright children."

"Lack of reliable source of income is the big challenge I currently have as a household. I personally, I don't have any kind of job. I depend on my husband who is also working at a query in Kilifi. The job has never been reliable because we sometimes go like two days without eating only one meal for the children. Sometimes my husband get injuries that keep him here at home without any job. So it has been a challenge and a very sad experiences as a family especially the children. Their health has never been good because they time to time get ill which is caused by the lack of healthy food."

"Receiving this money means that I will improve my home. I will do a concrete floor to reduce dust that I have to live with in my earthen floor old house. This will improve my health as I am sure to avoid common flus. I will spend about KES 50,000. I will then buy a dairy cow at KES 30,000. Milk from this cows will be a source of money for my household needs."

"The biggest challenging right now is food insecurity. I have no income given that I lost my teaching job when COVID 19 started. Since then I have lived on selling sheep that I rear ,in order to buy foodstuffs. I also practice subsistence farming. Before I get a job, I will still have a hard time providing for my family."
