"In my opinion, GiveDirectly has been doing a great job in my village in many ways. First, the money was sent directly into our Mpesa accounts and I was given all the freedom on how I would wish to spend it. This has powered us to own lots of livestock, build houses, send our children to schools, and even start up new businesses. On the other hand, I do not see any sector that GiveDirectly needs to improve on."

"I am a mother of three engaging in subsistence farming as my livelihood. I currently practice crop farming only since I have not been able to buy any livestock. Though my husband is a businessman, we focused on our children's education and daily household needs thus we could not have some income to expand our farming. Receiving this money means expansion of my farming. I am planning to use KES 56000 to buy two incalved-heifers. These are added assets in my family and shortly afterward I will have milk production from my farm. I will enough for my family consumption and cut the cost of daily expenditures. I will be selling the calves to support my husband's business and meet other family needs."

"My dream is to be a renowned large-scale dairy farmer. Dairy farming is a main economic activity in this area because of the availability of pastures and favorable weather. Engaging in this activity will enable me to accrue adequate funds in-kind form for future use. My concern is the payment of fees for my 4 children who will be joining the secondary school at the same time . Dairy farming will enable me to conquer this foreseeable challenge by use of incomes earned from sale of milk and livestock."

"I am a single mother of 6 living in a small single hut. This house is 12 years old and the grass has started falling off allowing leakage during rains and light penetration on sunny days. The condition of the house lowers my self-esteem especially when guests are around. This is because apart from leaking roofs the soot also falls randomly on the tables hence making the room untidy. In addition, the house does not offer privacy to me as a mother because we have to spend the nights with my three daughters on the floor of this room. With KES 40000 my dream of owning an iron-roofed house will come true. This will allow me to collect safe water for drinking during the rain seasons"

"Mental stability is the biggest challenge am currently facing. My first wife left me mysteriously in the year 2018 after dumping our firstborn child in the pit latrine. This shocked me because we did not have any conflicts within the family. As a result of loneliness I decided to get married in 2019 hoping that I would find peace and move on with life little did I know that the worst of the worst would happen to me(sobbing). My second wife passed on in November last year while delivering due to too much bleeding . All these consequential events give me worries about what fate has concerning me."

"Receiving this money means that the future education of my children is secured. I have been a worried lot over the recent past because in 2 years to come my firstborn child is set to join high school and close to KES.30,000 will be required at a go. That's an amount of money I have never touched or seen since I was born. We usually get an average of KES. 3,000 monthly from my husband's employment and that is enough to cater for our household needs like food and clothing only. I have a plan now to invest this money in buying 5 calves at an average of KES. 20,000 each. I shall come and keep them and by the time my daughter will be joining high school, we shall only sell one of the five to pay for her school fees. The rest of the cattle will give us money that we can use to expand the house because by then these children will have grown and we'll need a bigger house to accommodate all of us."
