"I love poultry farming and I have desired to have a big poultry farm but this has not been possible due to lack of money. Currently, I have a few chickens however I have not designated a good place for them to live and sometimes they are eaten by eagles and affected by diseases. So when I heard about Give directly coming to my village I was filled with joy as I intend to use around KES 20000 for the construction and KES 10000 to purchase more hens and for the remaining amount I will purchase a dairy cow."

"The biggest challenge is financial constraints. Lack of source of income has been the biggest contributor. We used to depend on maize farming to generate income but with low rainfall, its yield has reduced. Lethal necrosis has made the situation worse and we are almost giving up on farming completely yet we have children in secondary school with school fees arrears amounting to KES 30000. This is worrying me that my children will not have enough time to study since my pay as a teacher under the Parents Teacher association cannot sustain all my household needs like food and paying for their school fees."

"I will prioritize renovating my house when I receive this money. It needs major repairs because one side of the wall is down and I have used polythene paper to prevent us from cold. This will cost me 25,000 KES because I will use concrete pillars on all the corners of the house. My second plan is investing in the education of my children. I have a child in his second year of secondary school who requires 10,000 KES to complete the term. I have also budgeted 15,000 KES to boost my business. I own a motorcycle garage."

"My daughter is in her final year of primary school and my son is in his final year of secondary education. My wish is for them to advance in their studies. This has been giving me sleepless nights and therefore receiving this money means a lot in realizing their dreams. I plan to set aside 30,000 KES from the transfers for paying their school fees. My house also has been a problem because the mud walls are falling off. This forces me to frequently repair them. My plan is to set aside 15,000 KES to erect concrete pillars in all the corners of the walls to act as a strong support for the walls."

"I am in a polygamous marriage and when the first wife comes, my children always seek refuge from my neighbours because the house cannot accommodate us and even when visitors come they also have to seek shelter. Receiving this money means using 30,000 KES to build a two-room house that will accommodate my children. I will use the rest of the money to start goat keeping."

"I delivered through Caesarian section one year ago, though my condition is improving but I can not do the house chores as well as subsistence farming which I solely depend on. This situation has really affected me financially because I have to depend on my husband who works as a carpenter and the income he earns can not sustain us."

"My two year old son has been suffering from malaria for the past one month. Despite taking him for medication at the local dispensary the condition did not improve. This has emotionally affected me because I can not afford taking home to the best hospitals for special attention. Lack of enough money to provide my family with basic needs such as food is also a challenge as we only depend on my husband who works as a casual labour at the quarry earning 300 KES per day."

"My family of four members depend on burning charcoal occupation which is not a reliable source of income. In a good day I only manage to earn 400 KES for the sale of one charcoal bag. This little amount can only cater for one meal a day for the family. My two children who are in secondary school lack school fees which affect their academic performance. Receiving this money would mean I start a small kiosk whereby I will be selling fast moving commodities such as sugar, flour and beans. I believe through this business I will have a stable source of income for my family which will go along way to sustain the basic needs such as food and school fees. I plan to spend 50000 KES on the business. I will also spend 15000 KES on school fees and the rest will be spent on food."

"From my recent transfer, I spent a total of KES 30,000 to buy three cows. I intentionally bought the cows as away of investing for my future. I look forward to raise a heard of cattle from the three cows. They will be beneficial to my household in future in terms of provision of milk. In addition, I spent KES 10,000 to buy a 10,000 liters water tank. The tank will greatly help me to harvest and reserve rainwater. This will be of great help since in our area, water scarcity is often a major problem. I am glad that I shall always be able to have additional source of water for my household."
