"Looking at the state is my house gives me sleepless nights. One side where our bedroom is situated has no roof which is very dangerous and can cause health hazards, especially during rainy seasons. My wish has always been to build a new one because the current one is beyond repair. The next project after this is to buy furniture and also spare some for my daughter's school fees. Putting up a new structure will cost me around 40,000 KES, then I will set aside 15,000 KES for beds and mattresses for the family, 10,000 KES for school fees, and save the remaining money as I think of a good project to start. Receiving these transfers will give me a reason to sleep soundly without worrying because I will be able to have a new house and my child will also study without any disruptions."

"I was urged to be married to an elderly man immediately after dropping out of school in class 2. This is because my parents could not raise my school fees. They felt that marriage was going to be a consolation to me because at least my husband would be providing. Unfortunately, this was the opposite. Due to his age, he could no longer work and contribute and he also relies on me. My ambition has been to have a stable source of income but due to financial instability, this dream has never come to pass. I am planning to spend KES 40,000 to start a small business ( shop) which will be generating income for my family of 9 members. Other than that, I will invest the remaining part of the transfer to construct a better house because we are currently living in a small structure which is falling and is not enough to accommodate us."

"I own a shop in my village as a full-time job for me and I sell foodstuff. Receiving this money means a business boost for me, I intend to use 30,000 KES to increase my stock so that I can cater to the needs of all customers who come to be served at my shop. I will also open a food kiosk and sell food, we have a secondary day school where students tend to stay hungry because there is no food joint nearby. I will invest in the two businesses with high hopes of a better tomorrow. I will save the profit from the two businesses to be able to take my 3 children to secondary school education."

"I work as a motorcycle rider and I hire bikes to work with every day for 300 KES as hiring few which I submit to the motorcycle owner everyday. This has always been the trend but I thank God because the story will change, I intend to buy a new motorbike for my job. I have always dreamed of self-employment and this is the chance. With the remaining amount, I will renovate my house with concrete pillars to make it firm to withhold strong winds and heavy rains."

"Water has always been a problem in my village, I have to walk for 10 kilometers to search for freshwater to drink. Taps can run for two months without water and this makes us suffer and have no other option but to drink dam water which is consumed by cattle too. I feel hopeless about being married to this area. This dam water makes us sick and visits the hospital often for 1000 KES per visit."

"My son did his Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education in the year 2020 and up to now, he is yet to join college because of lack of school fees. He wants to be an engineer and I feel it is my responsibility as a parent to make his dream come true. My husband works in a tea estate in Kericho County where he earns KES 16000 every month. This money is spent on paying school fees for our other 4children who are in various schools. Every morning I see the frustration in my son's face an indication that he is growing impatient and this is making me sad. I intend to use KES 30000 of my transfer to pay for my son's college school fees. Receiving money will mean that my son will be in a position to pursue his profession without any financial hindrance."
