Albarn
received a $486 third payment.
"I have a grandson who in secondary school and the mother is not able to pay his school fees being that she is unemployed, so most of the third transfer I spent paying his school fees. The little remaining out of it, I spent on feeding my household members. I bought corn as at that time there was hunger and the prices of flour had escalated so much. My family could now comfortably feed on the corn. I would only encourage Give Directly to continue helping others like me, I am so grateful."

Mercy

"I spent my second transfer on paying school fee for my children in both primary and secondary school. Secondly, I purchased 22 bags of beans that I planned to sell during drought season when prices for beans have gone so high. I therefore expect double the total amount I invested."

"My biggest hardship is how to find money to buy food for my family. Prices of goods have really gone up to the extent that I can't meet all my needs because I depend on farm produce and we've been unlucky this time round due to the drought that stroke our area. "

"The happiest part of my day is in the evening when I am selling fish at the market. The atmosphere is usually very lively as sellers and buyers bargain prices and this makes me very jovial. "

Rosemary

"By the time the first transfer was sent to use, there was famine in our location and food prices were very high. Being that I had no food in the house, I used most of the money to buy 2 sacks of dry maize and the rest spent on other small food items for my family."
