How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life different if l could not have received the transfer is that l could not have manage plaster my house and l could be still be staying in a very dusty house.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion give directly did well by giving people money directly and not involving authorities who are very corrupted, they also did well by using Empesa as away of sending the money since it is very convenient.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I spent most of the second transfer to plaster my house since l have been longing to plaster my house but l could not manage because of luck of money so l knew this was the only opportunity that l got and l could not let it go.

What did you spend your first transfer on?
I spent the larger part of my first transfer on building a decent spacious traditional house ( simba ) for my son and now he longer sleeps at my neighbors' houses which came with several challenges such as him being locked out and walking at night would jeopardized his security maybe his likelihood of being attacked by wild animals and thieves as well.I also bought food for my family's consumption and household expenditures.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
The moment I received my first transfer, I felt very happy since I was hopeful of the money changing my living standards positively by acquiring important things I lacked due to lack of money. I am thankful to GiveDirectly and God for the life changing opportunity.

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
My biggest hardship is how to find money to buy food for my family. Prices of goods have really gone up to the extent that I can't meet all my needs because I depend on farm produce and we've been unlucky this time round due to the drought that stroke our area.
What is the happiest part of your day?
My happiest part of the day is the morning when my family have all woken up well and sound strong enough to face the day with all its challenges.
What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money to me means that God cares for his people and I'm lucky to be one of them.I feel happy because I'm smelling a bright future with the money at hand.
