What did you spend your second transfer on?
I had a room house which didn't fit me with my family having a bigger family and I also didn't have the resources to build a bigger house. When I received my third transfer I built a three room house which is now big enough to fit us well.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, Gd does well by transforming people's lives through giving them cash and letting them to decide on what to spend it on. I do not feel there is anything Gd isn't doing right.
How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is different than it would have been if I never received the transfer because if it was not for Gd I wouldn't have afforded such a high quality iron sheets that I used in constructing my house. I'm happy I have a bigger house which will last longer.

What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
The biggest hardship that I face right now is lack of enough money to pay school fees for my children who are in secondary and primary schools. If I am unable to raise the required amounts they may have to drop out of school.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the evening when I am selling fish at the market. The atmosphere is usually very lively as sellers and buyers bargain prices and this makes me very jovial.
What does receiving this money mean to you?
Receiving this money means I will stop worrying that my dilapidated house might collapse on my family when we are sleeping because I will be able to buy building materials and pay some workers who will repair and enlarge it.
