"I spent a portion of my last transfer on purchasing a water tank for reservation of water for use during dry seasons. I also plastered my house which was previously dusty and could easily host jiggers that in turn affected our health."

"The biggest hardship i have faced is hunger.
My household fully depends on farming. Most of my gardens are in a water logged area and because of the current heavy rains, our crops have been washed away by the rains. These days, my household starves without food since there is no money to buy food which have become expensive "

received a $467 third payment.
"I am not used to taking milk tea because I did not have the cows and I did not have the money to buy the milk. Black tea was the order of the day in my house. I am happy this will be a gone case soon as I spent part of my third transfer on buying two cows for milking. I also spent part of it to take my son for a mechanical course. I am happy he will be able to depend on himself after acquiring the skills. The remaining amount I spent on buying a water container being that my area is dry and there is always water shortages. This is my water reservoir. I appreciate the work done by GiveDirectly."

"I built a kitchen with my last transfer before building the kitchen I used to cook out in the field so when it rained this duty of cooking would be difficult since I also wouldn't want to fill the main house with smoke, I also bought super drum for storing water and a suite case to store my clothes and my husbands too."

"My village has one stream which is our source of water the problem is the stream is far away so when one wants to build or do something that requires alot of water this task is tiring and time wasting so when I received my last transfer I used it to dig a borehole and the rest of the cash i used it to plaster the floors of my house."

received a $485 third payment.
"I spent my third transfer on constructing a three roomed house to replace the single roomed one that I possessed before. I lived a very pathetic life in the house which was not just small but leaking as well. Any time it rained, the entire family had to squat in a given corner of the house which was a bit free form the leakages and had to stay awake throughout the night. The following day, we would wake up to air all the household items that had been soaked in the rain water and drain out the floods from the house. That was our life before GD. As we speak now, I have a very spacious house with two beds in different rooms, one for me and the other for my children. We no longer spend on the floor as was the case before. In addition, we dress and eat so well, something that would have taken us a whole century to achieve. Much thanks to Give Directly."

"I injected some part of the money in the expansion of my pig farming business. Now my business gives me double profit and I am a happy farmer. Pigs consume a lot of water therefore, I felt the need of digging a well so as to increase water supply in my home and farm. The remaining part of the money is what I used in digging up the well."
