Sofia received a $537 initial payment.
"I have been buying milk on a daily basis and this is expensive owing to the fact that I do not have an income and have always depended on what my children give to me. Whenever I do not have money to buy milk, I was forced to take porridge prepared from white maize flour and it's of low nutritional quality. When I received my first transfers, I decided to use part of it to buy a dairy cow so that I would relieve my children the burden of having to give me money to use in buying milk almost every day. Since I did not have some seats in my living room, I used part of the remaining amount of my transfers to purchase some seats. This will always make me more comfortable welcoming visitors into my home unlike before. I also used the remaining amount in the purchase of a water tank so as to use it to store water during rainy season."

"I have been buying milk on a daily basis and this is quite expensive since I am a housewife and I only depend on money brought in by my husband. This has been straining him a lot as he also has to pay our children's school fees and he does not have a stable source of income as he only depends on some casual work. When I received my first transfers, I used part of it in buying a dairy cow so that it will save us the expense of buying milk. I used the remaining amount in the purchase of a water tank so that I can use it to store water. This will save me the time I usually use going to fetch water daily as I will now be fetching it once a week."

"Buying milk has been a routine for me which has been expensive but I had no otherwise and so when I received my first transfer, I spared some amount which I used in buying a dairy cow for milk production. I am glad that I will no longer buy milk hence will be using the money to take care of other needs and I am also sure that my children's health will improve too. I also spent the remaining amount in buying a water tank. This tank will be so helpful to my family as my wife will not be going to river on a daily basis and during the rainy season as we will use it in storing water."
