How is your life different than it would have been if you never received the transfer?
My life is now different in that, I started the construction of my permanent house which I will move in very soon. Currently, I'm staying in small house that can not accommodate the whole of my family. In addition, I didn't have the financial muscle to construct another house.
In your opinion, what does GiveDirectly do well, and what does it not do well?
In my opinion, GiveDirectly has done well in giving me the money that commenced the construction of my permanent structure. According to me, GiveDirectly has done everything well.
What did you spend your second transfer on?
I have spent UGX 1314000 of my second transfer to buy building materials like bricks, iron sheets, timber, wheel barrow etc. I also bought food worth UGX 70000, household goods like mattress, bed, bed linen, table and chairs worth UGX 248000.

Describe the biggest difference in your daily life.
I have a lot of happiness in me because I have some money. The sickness has also gone away because I was able to buy medicine for treatment.
Describe the moment when you received your money. How did you feel?
I felt so happy that moment my phone notified me about the money. I started thinking of acquiring items that I didn't have before because life was a struggle. I and my spouse thanked God for the help granted by Give Directly and shared our plans together on how to construct our house because we have been sleeping in a grass thatched house.
What did you spend your first transfer on?
I bought household items at Ugx 205000, water Drums at Ugx 150000, Iron sheets at Ugx 530000 Labor for molding bricks and timber cutting at Ugx 335000, Food at ugx 20000 and saved Ugx 460000.

Receiving this money means purchasing agricultural land.This is because I barely have no land to cultivate.
What is the happiest part of your day?
The happiest part of my day is in the morning when i wake up and all my family members are heathy.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
My biggest hardship is inability to meet medical bills for my child who often falls sick because she has sickle cell.
