"I do not have any new goals that I never had before receiving the transfers. I have been able to accomplish all the plans that I had successfully after receiving the first and the last transfer. I have been able to purchase a water tank and started poultry keeping business that I did not have. My life is currently different in that I no longer have to travel for long distances in search of water and I can afford the rising cost of living with the help of poultry that I have. I have 10 egg laying chicken with over 20 chicks and I cannot be grateful enough to GiveDirectly."

"I am going to use part of my most recent transfer to buy zinc and part to pay debt. My house is in a deplorable condition now. At the back of this house part of the walls fell which I was trying to rebuild before GiveDirectly sent the money that is currently in my phone. Even the roof no longer holds the rain waters from falling in the house while sleeping. Over the years I have been worrying about where to get money to build a new house and pay back the debts I owe . I thank God for GiveDirectly for giving me this money. I am going to use it wisely to build my new house and pay all the debts I owe others.."

Timothy received a $297 second payment.
"Like I said from the beginning, my plan is to have zinc over my house and have my children go to school again. I therefore with my recent transfer(s) bought one bundle of zinc, mattress, and paid my children's school fees. During the rainy season, this house roof no longer holds the rain water from falling in the bed rooms despite the patches I have made over the time. Thank God for the money given me by GiveDirectly."

"In my opinion GiveDirectly does not prioritize one household over another. GiveDirectly treats all households equal. It allows each household to decide by itself what to do with the payments given. GiveDirectly protects its recipients from fraud; that is, GiveDirectly advice recipients to be careful with their payments especially during cash out. As for what GiveDirectly is not doing well, I have not seen anything yet that it is not doing well. Infact, this is the only organization I have seen the workers every time they are coming they bring their own food and water."

"Give Directly is a very good and transparent NGO, they are a people of integrity and I love them for that. What I don't like about them is they are too selfish, they even drink water from us not to talk of offering them fruits from our farm. That attitude of them really gets to me."

"The cash transfer brought fine feelings in my life. I feel fine daily because I am about to build a house that will shield me from the rain. My current house is not in a good condition; when it rains, water floods my house especially my sitting room."

"I am going to build a new house that I will be in without water leaking on me when it rains. I am no more going to be lying down on bamboo bed but instead mattress. I can safely and proudly say that the above statements describe the biggest difference in my daily life since I started recieving payments from GiveDirectly."

"After a long struggle fetching water from the river for my household that would take much of my time, I am glad to have purchased a large water tank that has so far brought the biggest difference in my daily life. I no longer have to walk a long distance to fetch water from the river but instead, I had been efficiently collecting the rain water from the roof. This is clean water safer compared to the river I had been visiting where people would bath and wash their clothes upstream while we fetch with our pots downstream."

"My plan is to build a good and a nice house. I bought all required materials such as iron sheets. I will start building a house when the rainy season stops. My sleeping place was also not nice. I used MK 63 000 to buy a mattress. I also bought some blackects. I have also bought 2 bags just for a start because I will buy some maize in the next coming days. I also used the money to buy kitchen utensils such as spoons, water buckets and pots."
