"Financial inadequacy is my biggest hardship. This is due to low income because our income generating activities are unstable. My husband's motorcycle business has really been affected by the pandemic and the much he earns is 300 shillings a day. My tailoring job produces around 300 shillings a month. This is due to the hard economic situation in our village where people do not view clothes as a priority. This situation has resulted to us lacking even the cheapest commodities such a quarter of sugar which goes for 25 shillings."

"The biggest hardship I have faced in life is the inability to own a cow. In our community, cattle are highly treasured livestock because they act as one of the backbones of our economy and source of milk for consumption. Since I have been struggling to repay a certain loan, I have never afforded to but a cow. Hence, my family spends significant amounts of money daily on purchasing milk that we always consume and utilize in making tea. Besides, my family finds itself as a substandard family unlike our neighbors who own cattle."

"I always wake up at dawn and embark on my motorcycle taxi business that goes on throughout the day. Hence, the happiest part of my day is in the evening when I am returning home with some income that would be used by my family while saving some amounts for future uses. This makes me feel like a responsible and hardworking husband and father."

"Despite my husband having experience in the motorbike taxi job he has never get a chance to own a motorbike. This has forced his to borrow from my neighbor a thing that troubles my mind with the income of $ 2 per day he can not fully provide for the basic needs like food and clothing for my family of 5 members. Therefore, I consider lack of adequate finances to fulfill my dream as my biggest hardship."

"Imagine depending on farming 0.5 acre piece of land to support all family needs like food, schoolfees and healthcare for a family of 7, yet the farm itself yields less harvests due to prolonged drought! This is the biggest hardship we face in my family. My spouse works as an employed motorcycle taxi rider and the $3 he earns daily is also barely enough to sustain all these needs. Tough economic times has made us lag behind development wise."
