Chepkemoi received a $442 second payment.
"I bought a dairy cow with the money which I received from GiveDirectly and through the sale of milk, I have been getting money that enables me to pay school fees for my children. When I started receiving income from selling milk, payment of school fees became easier and I no longer have stress like before. I had moved my children to a private primary school but then I used to struggle a lot to raise school fees. My goal is to see that my children get the best education so that they can be successful in the future."

"At the moment we have four cows which are local breeds and the milk production hasn't increased even after we added more feeds and adopted modern ways of feeding livestock. We have these cows in zero grazing units but we do not get a high yield as expected. We intend to buy exotic breeds which are high yielding so that we can have more milk for sale. Our goal is to have at least one cow by end of this year. We are thinking of selling all that we have so that we can acquire a new breed that can give us a high yield."

"I used KES 32000 to buy a dairy cow and used the remaining amount to buy household furniture and my own clothes. I chose to buy a dairy cow since for a long time we have had to buy milk and the amount of money that we normally spend on milk is way too high. Getting a dairy cow means that I will be able to have extra income through sale of milk and with this I will be able to easily make ends meet too."

"I used KES 36000 to buy a dairy cow and used the remaining amount to buy pieces of iron sheets for building a kitchen. Dairy keeping is one of the main economic activities and its hard to get money that would be enough to buy a dairy cow. I normally rely on small scale business of being a middleman in businesses at market centres to make some income. Right now I am happy that I have my own dairy cow that I milk up to 6 litres pee day. This has been life changing to me since it not only increases the amount of income for me but has also made me feel very relaxed. I no longer go out for long hours in search of odd jobs to make an income for my family to be sustained but I stay at home to be able to take care of my own libestock."

Rebecca received a $457 second payment.
"Upon withdrawing the money, the first thing I thought of was to invest in livestock. Based on that, I bought eight goats for KES 20000.00. This is because money invested somewhere multiplies. I opted for goats over cows because they are cheap to acquire and they have ready markets. I also paid KES 1000.00 for school fees for my lower primary child so that he could have a good time in school without fee disturbances. Thereafter, I saved the remaining amount for the family's upkeep because it was a hunger period due to a prolonged drought which stoke us."

"GiveDirectly does well by giving money to the poor in the community to build better houses and purchase dairy cows among other activities. I do not find anything that GiveDirectly did not do well since the training and the enrollment was fairly done."

"The new goal that I did not have before receiving the transfer is starting a business of buying cows from the farmers and selling them at the market at a higher price to earn a profit to meet the daily needs of the family. I will borrow the money from friends and return it on time. This will be the source of my capital for this new goal. I hope to save some money and run it myself."

"GiveDirectly does well in that they did the training so well and did the enrollment process without any biases. Most of the people spent their transfer well, some on building a better house and purchasing dairy cows among others. I do not find anything that GiveDirectly did not do well."
