"The first thing I want to do is re-open up my retail business which requires about $ 429 so that I can ensure a constant source of income for my family members. I also want to purchase a fresian cow to supply me with milk that I can sell and also give to my family to take. The cow goes for about $ 571. Then am also planning on adding on money from the business to the balance and purchase some land near bubita Market which can go for about $ 1142 as it is not affected by water."

"I spent part $120 of my second transfer on buying building materials which include the following; bags of cement and sand. This was purposefully for cementing my floor and plastering my house. Since it was a muddy house, I felt there was a need to upgrade because it was so stressful especially when it rained. My properties could at times get damaged hence experiencing loss as a result. I feel there is a huge relief now because I will no longer be undergoing destruction or being exposed to dust. I also bought a dairy cow at $200 which I am currently keeping in my compound. In two months to come, I am certain that I will start getting plenty of milk which will be for commercial purposes and the remaining litres for my family's consumption. At least I will no longer buy milk from friends, instead, I will save the cash and cater to some other needs. Additionally, I paid fees of $50 for my three children in primary school. As a parent, I am glad that they are no longer being sent home like before hence there is hope for better results. With the remaining amount of money, I bought food and decent clothes for my children."

"I am a single mother of two who has been living with a friend's child for the past year. I had been working hard on both my grocery business that has been my family's main source of income. I spent $300 on a dairy cow that will soon give birth after receiving the second transfer. Previously, I had purchased at least a liter of milk at the current price of $1. This has been so costly that I have been trying to find a way to stop the purchase. I am relieved that we will soon have ample supplies for my family as well as surplus for sale from the cow. My son, who was working in a nearby town, lost his job, and the construction of his house, which was funded by his wages, had to be halted. As a result, I had to chip in and spend $150 on windows, doors, and paints. I also paid the labor force that completed the construction with this amount. I am relieved that my son is now living in his house and not having to move around looking for a place to sleep. I later used the remaining $80 to cover my daily transportation costs from home to the market and back, as well as to expand my current grocery business, which has been doing well since then, with a profit margin increased from the daily $2 that I would get to the current range of $3 to $5 per day."
