What do you plan to do with the cash transfer?
With the transfer I plan to buy a plot of land at USD 811 in mbale where there is safe place, build a house worthy USD 811 and come back my from Kenya to settle there. I also use USD 216 to buy a cow and then the balance of USD 35 will be used to build a kitchen.
What is the happiest part of your day?
Despite the fact that I live miserably, I became so happy when people from Office of the Prime Minister came on 18th/08/2022 register me for rescue. At this, I had hope that any time support will come my way and move out of this landslide and flash floods prone area to safer. Though they have never come since then.
What is the biggest hardship you've faced in your life?
I currently face a problem of flash floods which forces me at times run away and sleep at the neighbour's place. The landslide has destroyed my crops causing poverty in my family whereby I am un able to meet some basic like food, good beddings. This forced my wife to go to Kenya to look for money and I am now staying with my one son who was left with me.
