"Receiving this money will mean a debt relief burden. I have a family of two children and all depend on me for food and other basic needs. I own a motorcycle which I purchased it through a loan.I usually pay KES.400 per day to the lenders and this has been strenuous to me.Their are other commitments that are in my shoulder but unfortunately I have not been able to achieve them. We are happy that we shall be relieved from this burden of paying a debt. I therefore intend to pay the balance of KES65,000 to clear the debt and also use the remaining to start a retail shop within the village." (Occupation: Motorcycle or bicycle taxi)

"I have planned all my life that my first achievement is to get a purchase land of my own. The reasons are just simple. I move in this town since 2008,I started doing my mechanic work at the age of ten.I am a school dropped out because of financial constraints my parents were faced with ; I was forced to enter the mechanic shop inorder to help my Father. Years went by and today I am on my own hustling to build my family. I am a father of a girl child. I left my parents and started renting, but every thing I earned is been diverted to rent. So, I discussed with my girlfriend and we plan to purchase a land to enable us build our own house. With this; I know we will be able to save for ourselves and stopped given money to someone every month for rent. Renting is a serious financial challenge a delay of progress in one's life." "I am a single father of two. A form one and a class seven pupil. Whenever the schools open, they go to their aunt's place in Bangladesh, Mombasa town and when they close, they come back home. I am the one who supports them financially. Currently, they have school fee arrears of ksh7800. This was after I reduced it by ksh1150 that I had received as my first transfer. I had some money I had saved up so I reduced the arrears to ksh4000. So, when I received my second transfer, I saved it all to the Chama I am in. I joined it because I need some funding to buy a motorcycle. For three weeks now, I have been at home. This is because my Tuk-tuk got damaged and I took it to the garage for repair. It has not yet been repaired since I do not have ksh5000 to pay for the service. So now I only depend on the Chama for my financial support."

"I have a young family with only one child who will be turning three in April. I already so have three siblings who depend on me financially.  So often, I would support myself through my mother from the earnings I get in my wine brewing and motorcycle business. On a daily basis, I normally make around ksh200. The funds I received from give directly have also boosted my finances and now I can do more with so much ease. For instance, in my first transfer, I bought a goat worth ksh1500, and the remaining amount, I substituted to what I have to buy a bed that cost me ksh4600. Then my second transfer I bought a 4x6 mattress that costs ksh3700. The ksh700 was from my earnings."
