"Receiving this money mean better education for my grand children. I gave birth to 3 sons who live here at home with me but their economic activities is to burn charcoal whatever they get cater to feed their children only. Thus they have been unable to raise school fees to educate their kids. As their grandmother I plan to use first transfer to clear huge balances they have in their schools, the second transfer I plan to construct a semi- permanent house for me and my husband."

"Receiving this money means land ownership. I have been living on family land since I got married which belongs to my father in-law. Recently I bought my piece of land but it is too small for my family to reside in there and cultivate as well. I plan to use 50000 to purchase 2 acres of land for an agriculture project and also build a home. I also plan to use 15000 to buy a cow and the rest of the money to pay school fees for my children."

"It means a lot. I have heard of people who have received this money and I have seen the things that they have done with this money at their homes. My husband died long ago and I have no one to support me. With this money, I intend to buy a cow and sheep with 38,000 shillings of my first transfer, use 5,000 shillings to pay school fees for my granddaughter who is in grade three and use the amount from the second transfer to upgrade my house since it leaks when it rains."

"Receiving this money means that we will be able to raise school fees for my son who joined secondary level this year. Having accomplish this will be our biggest joy as a parent since we will have not failed in our responsibilities. We are required to raise above 30,000 shillings to cater for schools fees and other school necessities. Raising these has been a challenge to us since we depend on dairy farming where we get around 3,000 shillings every month. These suppose now to cater family basic needs, before my first born joined form one it has been enough and this has forced to look for casual jobs to add. The remain amount I will use to purchase another daily cow so as to increase my income in the future."

"My dream is to have a permanent house. We currently live in an unfinished house, with poor roofing and soiled floor. Our priority is to finish the house by using $100 for cement and have a cemented floor. Secondly we want our kids to have the best education and so $300 will be for their school fees. The remaining amount of money will be used to finish paying for a piece of land I had bought and for food and clothing."

"My ambition is to own a cow in my compound for two reasons, one for a sense of belonging within the community and for milk production. Each day my family uses a litre of milk which accumulates to $1.8 a month. Buying a dairy cow will help us cub spending money on buying milk and instead get it from our own cow. A good dairy cow costs $400, the remaining amount will be used in paying school fees for our daughter, for food and clothing."

"My biggest hardship is a lack of funds. I work as a construction worker earning at most 20 dollars a month. This work is not stable as not everyday that I get to find a construction job. This goes to school fees for my three children and other basic including like food. I'm the breadwinner meaning I'm the one to meet all my family's needs. This strains me a lot and has seen most of my plans stall including a house I started constructing two years ago."

"Receiving this money means that I will start an income-generating activity. I used to work in other people's farms as a casual laborer, mainly to pay school fees for my children and to buy food. When the children completed their college education, I stopped going for these hard labor jobs. I then developed a leg problem where my knees ache most of the time, making it difficult for me to comfortably move around. Because of this, I want to keep a cow, some sheep and start poultry keeping when I receive this money. I will build a poultry house and buy the birds for about $ 300. I will then buy two dairy cows for approximately $ 500. This initiative will provide me with a daily income from selling milk and eggs of about Kes $4 a day. This will be sufficient to make my life comfortable because I spend about $2 a day on household needs."

"Receiving this money means owning my own land and home. I have small business of selling fish at the road side whose daily profit is 150 Kenya Shillings,. This is not sufficient to feed my family given that I am a single mother of 5 children. I have a small house here at my parent's home but my ambition is to get my own piece of land for cultivation and also my children to inherit in the future. I plan to use 45000 Kenya shillings to purchase 1 acre of land , 15000 to clear school fees of the whole year for my children and the rest of the money to buy cows for milk production for both for sale and personal use."

"I am a widow who wholy depend on casual labor for a living. The daily wages $40 isn't sufficient enough to feed and educate my children.Receiving this money means good education for them for I will spend 200$ on fees.I also intend to purchase 2 dairy cows at 300$ since I sold what I had to facilitate school fees for my children. Furthermore, I will spend $300 on constructing a kitchen as I temporarily cook in the living room.I will use the rest of the transfers to start a grocery business and the use the profits to feed my family."
