"I spent my 30,000 KES to give my husband who opened a family Scrap metal shop at Bondo, where he collects Scrap metal and delivers to Kisumu for sale.We have so far saved a total of 11,000 KES in a Bank account, that was chronically at minimum balance beofre GD supported us. And this is just from the profits of this business, while our 30,000 KES is still intact. The business has created employment for 2 Casual workers whom we pay 500 KES daily. So far life is looking good, and I am very grateful to GD so much I have no words to thank you, as before the grants life used to be very difficult for us since we had no income .In addition, I am personally engaged in second hand clothing business ,the starting capital of which was 10,000 KES from my second transfer. I sell children's clothing and have currently a saving of 7, 000 KES , and clothing stock valued 8,000 KES. Currently my business is paused as I wait for the political temperature to cool down in Bondo."

"I have been living a life of frustration and struggles way before I had received my transfers. My house was a one room leaky grassed thatched house , staying with the five of us and when it rained it was a nightmare for us since rainfall could get through the space in the grassed thatched roof wetting the earthened floor where my three children were sleep on as they had covered it with a mat and an old small piece of a blanket. Spending my third transfer on building a three roomed newly iron sheet house is the joy that I can testify since I have the comfort of my house which I have long for .I bought a bag of maize ,millet and paid school fees for my two children who are in nursery school and primary school respectively.I also bought clothes, a goat and started a small retail business."
