"I have a plan of building a new kitchen structure for myself so that I can prepare my meals in a more comfortable manner unlike what I do currently where I have to cook outside where I always face a lot of challenges especially when I have to cook outside in harsh weather conditions. Apart from that, the structure will also act as a sleeping area for my daughter who normally has to go and sleep at a relatives place every nigh, almost five hundred meters away from where I live. It is not a good thing especially for the girl child who has to walk for such a distance every night in the dark."

"In the next six months, I expect to buy a cow with the money I will get from selling part of the farm produce I shall have obtained in the next season. I have only been owning four bulls, however, I believe having a cow will be more beneficial to my household. I will be able to obtain milk from it hence there will be no need to spend any money on buying milk for my household. The cow I expect to buy will be in remembrance of the charitable works of GiveDirectly to my household."

"Illiteracy contributes greatly to poverty in the society because uneducated people often do not have stable sources of income. I would not want my children to languish in poverty and my biggest ambition is to educate them for a better future. In order to achieve my ambition, I will reopen a shop business that I used to run earlier before it collapsed due to insufficient funds. I will also purchase oxen which I will not only use to scale up farming but also hire them at a fee. This will enable me to attain a stable income that will finance my children's education besides meeting other needs such as food, clothing and healthcare."

"I spend my most recent transfer to buy a house in Mathare. We used my transfers with that of my husband to buy the house. He has been struggling to pay rent with the little money he got from casual work. At times he could not get any job to do and it will be a challenge to pay rent and meet other family needs such as food since I did not have any source of income. Thank you Give Directly for the support since I no longer pay rent and we could save the money we could have otherwise used to pay rent and use to provide other family needs."
