Susan
received a $23 twelfth payment.
"In the next six months, I expect to have completed renovating my house. I will, thereafter, buy a set of chairs since I do not have any good chair, except the old and broken wooden seats which I have been fixing every now and then. Acquisition of new chairs will change the outlook of my house. Furthermore, I will no longer have to borrow chairs from my neighbors in the event I have visitors."

Salome
received a $367 second payment.
"I used my recent transfer to pay school fees and buy uniform for my child who was joining kindergarten. I received my transfer when she was joining school and I did not have money to pay school fees. This was because I had not received my wages from my casual job. The money I also get from the casual work is little and it could have been a challenge paying the school fees. I also saved part of my transfer since I had not decided on what to do with the money."

Susan
received a $367 second payment.
"I spent my most recent transfer to purchase salon equipment such as a a hair dryer, a sink for washing client's hair, a cabinet for storing beauty products, mirrors and a facial steamer. I have been a mobile hairdresser and beautician for the past three years, whereby I attend to my clients at their location of choice; this could be either at their household or mine. I have always wanted to have my own salon but I did not have the capital to begin one. I used my transfers to buy the equipment that I have listed above as I await my final transfers to enable me rent a stall in Pangani Estate, Starehe Ward, where I can run my own salon. I am very grateful to Give Directly for making this dream come true."

Tabu
received a $549 initial payment.
"I had never planned to own livestock considering that my financial status would not allow me to achieve that. However, with the coming of GiveDirectly, I got the financial support and accomplished that which seemed to be impossible to me. I now acquired my own livestock as necessary assets in our area and will help me in timely cultivation. To me, Owning these livestock gives me satisfaction and the biggest daily difference in my life."

Mathew
received a $23 twelfth payment.
"I expect to build a new house in the next six months. This would be the biggest change in my life because I currently live in a small house which is too squeezed for my big family. I have teenage daughters who should be having their own room to enhance their privacy but since the house is too small there is very minimal to keep private which is so shameful. I am hopeful that in the next six months I shall have mobilized enough resources to start building a bigger house."
